Constituent Services

Constituent Work

My office is extremely poud of our dedication and focus to directly help the people of the 29th District.  The work we do to help solve individual issues and concerns are just as important as any legislative work.  My office is available and easily accessable for the people of Pontiac and Auburn Hills to contact.  One of the first things I did entering office after the 2006 election was to open a full-time office in the district.  In addition to my coffee hours and my Lansing office, citizens can contact or visit my office in Pontiac.  We have made a concentrated effort to take an active role in the community and regular events.

My offices continues to handle a regular caseload of constituent issues we try to help with.  We have always sought to take an active role in helping in any way we can.  The issues we have helped with are wide-ranging and run the spectrum of issues people deal with on a day to day basis.  Our constituent work is especially useful in helping people navigate and deal with issues related to any office or department within our state and local governments.  Some basic examples of issues we have helped solve include:

  • Unemployment cases
  • Department of Human Service issues
  • Legislative concerns
  • Friend of the Court cases
  • Housing issues
  • Insurance issues
  • coordinating with local governments
  • Veterans issues
  • Social Security issues, connecting with federal agencies

This is just a sampling of cases we have helped with.  We are happy to listen to your concerns and see how we can help in any way possible.  If we cannot directly help, we will work to put you in contact with someone who can.  My office and staff have established contacts with state agencies and our representatives in congress to ensure that we offer the best constituent services possible.

Welcome to my Website

"It is a great pleasure to serve the people of Pontiac and Auburn Hills. I hope you will find my site helpful and informative. It is intended to provide information on my legislative work and be another access point in which to contact me. The content allows constituents and citizens to keep informed on the issues that I am working on. My site also offers information on events that may be affecting the people of the 29th District. You can find information to contact my office and other local resources that may help offer valuable services. I look forward to hearing from you."

"The energetic Melton has pushed forward on other, smart education ideas, such as establishing a college tuition system of the entire state modeled after the Kalamazoo Promise. Incumbent Tim Melton is the better choice."
