The bills were intended to make a number of long overdue reform, and make Michigan competitive for federal Race to the Top dollars. After negotiations abruptly broke off between the House and Senate, we spoke to the media in an effort to bring the Senate negotiators back to the table. With the end of the legislative session looming, it was essential that the Senate come back to the table.
